REMEMBERING BILL AND BARBARA MYERS

The following letter was written by the longtime friend and fellow minister in Indonesia, Bill Hekman. Enjoy.

Bill and Barbara were my neighbors in Indonesia. They were a great example of hospitality. Their house was open to guests and there was never a lack of guests in their home.

Bill and Barbara were great visionaries for Christ having been involved in printing Christian literature, Radio broadcasting and TV. They adopted 3 Indonesian children. Barbara went home to heaven and Bill joined her on February 3rd 2023. Their 2 sons, Gordon and Philip are also fulltime servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bill faithfully continued to serve the Lord and his burden was to reach the 74,000 villages of Indonesia via Satellite. I learned from Bill about the gift of patience, loving your neighbor and sharing the Gospel of Christ in many ways. His goal was to reach all of the villages of Indonesia for Christ via Satellite and placing TV sets in the homes of village leaders which were pre-set to receive the Gospel messages via his satellite system.

So-called-friends took advantage of his honesty and his total commitment to His Lord and Saviour. Bill never ever thought of revenge but continued to fulfill the Great Commission via the various aspects of the media till the day the Lord took him home to heaven. I considered him my best friend and will certainly miss him the rest of my life.
