Romans 5:8

Mighty Servants of God. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

The interaction between Jesus and a Gentile woman in Matthew 15:21-28 provides a glimpse into the hearts of those involved. The woman’s request reveals her faith. The disciples’ response reveals how much they still had to learn. Jesus revealed His heart by honoring her request, not that of His disciples. What does your response to the needs around you reveal about your heart? Does your response reveal the heart of Jesus?

Pray: Lord, I am forever grateful that You were not content to love simply with words or speech, but that You demonstrated Your love for us in serving us at our point of need. Change my heart. Give me Your servant heart to replace my self-serving heart, Your compassion to replace my self-absorption. Change me, I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
