Acts 1:4-5
Mighty Servants of God. As Jesus ascended into heaven, His disciples faced a new phase in their leadership. Their first choice was to decide whether they would try to lead in their own strength or wait for the power of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus had told them to do. Whatever new beginnings we face in our leadership journey, we have the same choice as the disciples. Will we choose to lead in His strength or try to forge ahead in our own power?
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”—Acts 1:4-5
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. We look to You, Spirit of God, for the wisdom, power, and discernment we need to lead like Jesus lead, in Whose name we pray, amen.
