Luke 4:16-21

Mighty Servants of God. God’s faithfulness and goodness is proclaimed throughout Scripture. Beginning with Adam and Eve, God’s desire to restore broken lives is on display. Yet, we may question whether He will be the same for us as He was for the people in the Bible. We wonder if He will once more show His forgiveness, love, and power on our behalf. Is God’s willingness to save still available? Does He still act on behalf of His people? Jesus’ words, quoted from Isaiah 41, give a resounding yes to our longings and questions.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. – Luke 4:16-21

Prayer: Jesus, in whose life these words are fulfilled, thank You for being living and active within, around and through me. In Your name, amen.
