1 John 2:1

Mighty Servants of God. As God’s people, we are not to live lives characterized by sin. Our lives are to be characterized by knowing Jesus Christ, the righteous one. Yet sin is a reality in this fallen world, and at times we will succumb to temptation. Perhaps we are prone to failing to lead in humility and God-grounded confidence. Perhaps we forego words of encouragement and loving correction, choosing instead to speak harsh words of judgment that stem from our own pride or fear. Whether our failure is large or small, public or private, doing what is wrong or failing to do what is right, we have One who speaks to the Father on our behalf.

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.—1 John 2:1

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for speaking to the Father on our behalf and helping us when we fall. In Your name we pray, amen.
