A Man, a Vision and a Mission by Bill Hekman

A MAN

The man is Rev. William (Bill) Myers. Him and his wife Barbara have served in Indonesia since 1962 and it is because of their commitment to a vision and their love for the people that they have not only become citizens of Indonesia but also have adopted 3 Indonesian children after raising their own two sons. Their oldest son is a pastor in the United States, the second one, a pastor in Indonesia and their adopted children are grown and involved in ministry in varying ways.

A VISION

God has given Bill a vision of blessing the entire nation of Indonesia with the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ by using the most modern tools. This vision is big and the tools ever expanding, but that didn’t stop Bill or Barb. It started with printing materials which quickly took off and new equipment was added. Cassettes, then VHS, DVDs and now digital media through satellite and streaming services.

A MISSION

Jangkar Harapan Indonesia is registered with the government of Indonesia (Indonesia for Christ is the English name registered in the states), with the Mission to reach all 75,000 villages in Indonesia. He has developed a studio in Manado where he records Christian programing for young and old but with a special focus on the children of Indonesia.

Physically it is quite impossible to visit so many villages but with the wisdom God has given Bill; this dream to beam Christian and educational programs into all of the villages becomes possible. However using satellite is not a cheap option and this has been a matter of prayer for almost 20 years. Bill trusted God for the realization of this mission and has recorded thousands of hours of programming in preparation for this 24/7 outreach. And now we can see the realization of this mission. New satellites are being placed in villages all over Indonesia, new material is being made constantly and lives are being impacted by the love of God.

Please join us, the man, the vision and the mission. Indonesia needs your support.
